William G. Ridley letters to his family in Drewryville, Southampton Co., Va. [manuscript] 1858-1860.

Ridley, Brookland School, Albemarle County, Va., and the University of Virginia, writes to his family in Drewryville, Southampton County, Va. He discusses school life, headmaster William Dinwiddie, health, diversions including hunting and skating. Of interest is are an account of a visit to a dentist, and descriptions of the General Gordon freight locomotive, and a concert by Negro pianist "Blind Tom" at the University of Virginia.
